Charities & Projects

“In the United States alone, Masonic organizations give $1.5 million a day to charity. Everyday worldwide OES members give their time and loving kindness in their communities.”

Each Alabama Chapter serves their communities in a variety of ways. They collect food for those in need, donate school supplies, offer scholarships, support Little League teams and hospitals, participate in events to fund research to cure cancer, heart and other deadly diseases, and sponsor Masonic youth organizations (the Order of the Rainbow for Girls and the Order of DeMolay). Chapters also work together to support several statewide charities, including a scholarship program for future pastors and other religious leaders (ESTARL). This year’s Special Project is Service Dogs.

ESTARL (Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious Leadership)

A scholarship fund for those who are going to school for the purpose of religious training. Each state administers their own ESTARL program. Those wishing to apply for an ESTARL Scholarship should contact the Grand Secretary of the state or province in which they reside.

Alzheimer’s

On behalf of the members of the Order of the Eastern Star, their families, friends, and our sisters and brothers in the Order, we come together to rally around a cause that deeply affects our Eastern Star family. The Order of the Eastern Star is proud to raise funds to support the Alzheimer’s Association. Through our collective efforts, we will earn national recognition benefits—while most importantly helping advance care, support, and critical research.
With new treatment breakthroughs offering hope for more time with loved ones, there has never been a more powerful moment to act. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other forms of dementia.

OES Service Dogs

As the primary and identifying charity, the Order of the Eastern Star advocates for qualified Service Dog programs and provides financial assistance to such organizations, aiding their efforts to serve mankind and to allow individuals to achieve independence. With new treatment breakthroughs offering hope for more time with loved ones, there has never been a more powerful moment to act. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other forms of dementia.
